The Famous Japanese Baby Toy “Pooh Merry”

One baby item we kept hearing about from other parents in Japan was the “Pooh Merry,” a popular baby toy made by Takara Tomy.🍯🐻

Before our baby was born, we noticed that many Japanese parents recommended it online, and now we understand why.

The Pooh Merry can be used in different ways as babies grow — first as a mobile for newborns, and later as a play gym and activity toy. We liked that it could be used for a long time instead of only during the newborn stage.

As our baby grew a little older, the Pooh Merry became useful in different ways too. Our baby started holding onto it to practice standing, pressing the buttons independently, and playing with it more actively.👶♡

Our baby spent a lot of time quietly watching the moving toys and listening to the music, especially during the first few months. It also gave us small moments to eat, clean, or rest while staying nearby.

In Japan, the Pooh Merry has become famous enough that many parents simply call it “Poo Merry” online. It even received the Hit Sales Award at the Japan Toy Awards 2025 because of how popular it became among families in Japan.

Of course, every baby is different, but for us, it became one of the baby items we were most glad to have at home 🇯🇵
